» Canon Point: Before joining the Western Army and subsequently the battle of Sekighara in Sengoku Basara 3
» Gender: Male
» Age: No specific age is given, but he is described as "young" and roughly around the same age range as Motochika Chosokabe (who is 22).
» Orientation: Unknown. Motonari is not seen to engage in sexual or romantic activity, preferring to spend his time strategizing and proclaiming he's the child of the sun.
» Personality: Motonari is a smart, cunning, innovative and wily tactician first and foremost. Selfish, imperious and self-centred, he is ruled by logic and rational decisions with a mind rivaled by very few in the warring states. For him, emotions and impulses are no ways to lead or do battle. He is not a compassionate leader as all are below him. As the "Child of the Sun" and thusly of a nature beyond humans, Motonari thinks of his soldiers and the people under his rule as nothing more than pawns. They should be sacrificing themselves to protect him, as he believes that none will ever rise or can even hope to rise to his station. Thus they might as well make themselves useful for his own advancement.

When it comes to impulses and feelings, he believes that people who use these to guide them are boorish and leave themselves open to be used. Just because he doesn't like them doesn't mean that he doesn't understand how they work, or how people work for that matter. He will use people in a heartbeat if it means that he gets what he wants. He is not stupid in the way he handles people and is often able to assess their motivations and character and use that to his advantage.

Motonari has an inherent distrust in people, always keeping them at a distance. For him, all his emotions are kept at bay for they interfere too much with thought to be of any use. Motonari trusts his own person and only his own person. He needs only himself, and if he has himself he is never lonely or never needing others. He very rarely doubts himself or if he does, he can quickly retract and reformulate quickly. Friendships mean nothing. Bonds are divisible and weak. To Motonari, everything is disposable and all is tools to be used for his gain. Trust is irrelevant. Trust is a waste of time.

This is subsequently a reason for why he joins the Western Army, Tokugawa Ieyasu's "campaign" as it were relies on the bonds between people and that kind of talk is something Mouri despises. It is also the source of his neverending feud with Motochika Chosokabe, his neighbour over at the island of Shikoku. The perpetual thorn in his side, Motonari believes that Motochika is weak because he cares far too much for his men, his people and it is a waste of his time and energies. However he does applaud Motochika's persistence, even if he utterly hates him. The fact that he can make Motonari's plans fall to pieces with his brash attitude surprises even him, as he is the perfect exemplification of things Motonari just does not and will not do.

Besides this, Motonari feels all should respect him. A wrong turn and you could be dead, which leads to many of his men begging for forgiveness as he bids them to fight to the death for the sake of the sun. Which leads to another key facet to his personality - the sun. Motonari Mori believes that he is the Child of the Sun. Everything he does is linked to the sun in some way or form. Many of his canon powers are bestowed by the sun, and it is what influences his weapon change between the first Sengoku Basara to subsequent titles from a war baton to a ringblade around his person. Motonari feels that his intelligence is otherworldly, that it was given to him to capitalise upon the ground he walked and the people under his command. He believes that he has been bestowed with the divine protection of the sun and thus he behaves as he pleases, which usually means he is a bastard to everyone. He tramples over people. Though he claims to do things under the name of the sun, it also masks his true system of honour and virtue which does exist, despite his actions of backstabbing, underhanded deals and general devious scheming. He believes in nothing other than the sun, and he feels like he is not indebted to explain it to any one other than himself.

» Appearance: Perhaps the best description one can give of Motonari's default appearance within the game is that he resembles a giant okra. This is mostly due to his distinctive green hat with the curved tip, which frames his face and covers the majority of his brown hair. His outfit is a light green with blue and yellow accents on the light armour on his arms which covers a green top and black gloves. White trousers and black heeled boots complete the ensemble. Motonari himself is slender, but not waifish with a fair complexion. The aim is for an impressive appearance which allows him to move unhindered in light of his weapon being a ringblade.http://images.wikia.com/sengokubasara/images/1/1d/Sengoku-basara-chronicle-heroes-mori-motonari.jpg

Hmph.

[Motonari looks straight on into the camera, an expression of inherent dislike on his face.]

I have been taken far from my lands at Aki. I have no doubt that this is some plot to dispose of me.

[His gaze hardens as he continues addressing all on the network further.]

I am the Child of the Sun. Perhaps your folly has not led you to realise this. Simple abductions and attempting to force humiliation upon my person do nothing to deter me from my goals. If I find the perpetrator of this act, I will show no mercy. You will die, painfully. I will personally see to it that you will proclaim the power of the sun with your dying breaths.

[A pause, to let his words sink.]

Come forward, and perhaps this will be a less painful experience. Perhaps.

Western. The musing comes to him as clear as day, his eyes finally coming into focus as he wakes.

This room was foreign in design, and most definitely in that Western in style. It had to be. It certainly had more resemblance to the Pontiff Xavi's Castle than his own rooms in Aki. Despite the unfamiliarity with his surroundings, Motonari sits up and his vision clears soon enough. The spacious room immediately strikes suspicion into him, and he jumps out of the luxurious bed almost as soon as he shakes off the haziness.

But was it really the haziness of sleep though? As his thoughts reassemble, Motonari is displeased with himself. This is not Aki, though the atmosphere reminds him of it. He can feel the sun shining into the room and it pleases him greatly.

Then it occurs to him that there was something that pleased him greatly in those illusions of sleep. He is not a man to be affected by dreams, but the one he had experienced was more vivid than any other. His face automatically forms a scowl even to recall it - he was writhing in ecstasy, a certain pirate standing over him...

Tsch, the pirate. Him, of all people. The last person he wants to be involved with in those wanton actions. Motonari's face forms more into a frown as he recounts this and attempts to find his clothes. There is much that does not make sense, and it bothers him greatly. His clothes had been stripped from his person, he had a dream of certain acts which makes his blood boil and there is a strange object around his neck that he never remembers wearing. As he places a hand to it, he does not remember where it comes from. It makes more and more sense that this is some schema and Motonari feels a sense of urgency to do something to change this predicament to his favour. He knows what these enemies want and it frustrates him that he had fallen into their trap in the first place.

He will not be distressed. He will gaze into the sun's light and remember his stature. Firstly Motonari will gather information, clothe himself, find his weapon and make haste back to his lands. There is no doubt in his mind about this.

Motonari almost seems amused. Did they honestly think that he would not catch on? He will see to it that these enemies are summarily dealt with
